Amethyst Bath in Africa
Amethyst Bath: Eli Eli Eli (Mantra of one of the Holy Names)
- This bath was created right at the beginning of my fascination with Cistercian architecture. It is also the first building I was inspired to design for the De Angelus Estates project.
-
There are 3 rectangles as the grounding element, and 3 circles, representing the infinite trinity ever present throughout creation i.e. Father, Son and the Holy Spirit; sun, moon and stars; body, mind and spirit etc.
-
7 Smaller columns separate the treatment cubicles from the bath (7=spirit) and there are 9 large columns around the bath, representing the 9 angelic orders.
-
Bell-crowned Cistercian windows are applied, this can be interpreted as a reach for the heavens, or hands placed together in prayer… The total of the windows, their placement as well as the fragments in the oculus, were tediously calculated in order to achieve the greatest harmony. Georgian tint- glass will be used for windows of the spiritually significant buildings around the estates.
- Encased amethyst geodes and lights will enhance the centre of the bath, drawing on the natural energies to further enhance the experience and creating an atmosphere for healing. The bath will operate on a schedule, providing recharge periods of infusion for the subtle energies… The skylight is tubular and its cross section is hexagonal, optimizing the sun and moon cycles and dispersing needed energy into the interior, the bath and the crystals.
-
Outside the water that has passed through the bath spouts out into the naturalization dam, from 9 angelic faces, 9=angelic number. Recapitalization eco friendly technology is applied throughout the processes of supplying the baths with water from natural mountain springs, which is only filtered, slightly heated with solar grids and then infused with ozone in order to prevent the use of chemicals as well as the neutralization of bacterial and fungal content. Thus the water can be optimized again, applied for the gardens, or even recycled.
