National Skills Development Strategy
The principle aims and objectives of the training, development and upliftment project for the De Angelus Estates is to support the National Skills Development strategy. The De Angelus Estates training, development and upliftment project will be divided into a Local Development Plan, a National Development Plan and upliftment of the local community.

The national development plan will include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. To offer the De Angelus Estates project courses to all students throughout South Africa,
2. Interact with other similar service providers so that learners on learner ships can be exchanged and thereby gain additional and wider experience, and
3. Offer a hospitality and tourism student exchange program.
Upliftment of the local community, will include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. Training in health care to educate the community about AIDS, TB, diet, hygiene, etc.,
2. Arts and crafts training. Emphasis will be placed on the re-use and or recycling of waste items such as tins, plastic bags, waste paper, etc. and thereby creating marketable articles that will enable those individuals to become self sufficient.
3. Basic business principles training will be offered to the local community,
4. Hospitality and tourism principles and appropriate knowledge and skills will also be transferred to the local community,
5. Selected individuals will also be taught unique skills such as spinning and the manufacturing of garments from llama wool, and
6. Local community will get involvement with certain processes related to the manufacturing of essential and pharmaceutical oils.
The De Angelus Estates training, development and upliftment projects will be developed by education, training and development practitioners (SAQA registered). Their commitment, as an internationally qualified educational training and development practitioners will include:
1. Adhering to national and international standards and principles as far as all training and development is concerned related to the De Angelus Estate development and upliftment project,
2. Recruiting of potential students,
3. Assessment of potential students,
4. Conducting recognition of prior learning on potential students,
5. Entering into contracts for learner ships between the practitioner, the potential employer and the learner in order to formally monitor progress,
6. Facilitating learning where time allows,
7. Appointing nationally qualified facilitators where and when necessary,
8. Assessing facilitators and ensuring that assessments are fair and meet the required standards,
9. Moderating where required,
10. Designing facilitator and learner guides according to NQF Standards and SAQA Principles,
11. Designing student assessments according to national unit standard outcomes,
12. Designing learning tools and job aids,
13. Designing assessment tools,
14. Overseeing the overall training and development processes,
15. Counseling learners and community members where necessary,
16. Interacting with the community and recruiting individuals for the different projects as mentioned in this document,
17. Mentoring and guiding community members involved with projects,
18. Coordinating training offered to external learners from all over the country, and
19. Compiling progress reports as far as the practitioners’ functions are concerned as well as project progress.
The Angelus Componental Education (ACE) program, will offer the best possible support for its graduates, nationally.
Students can also earn extra income for work performed outside the NQF hours, required by the certificates and diplomas.
Structures are set up in such a way, as to allow Share - Trust options, with respect to specific activities and aspects within the broader framework of the De Angelus Estates, thus furthering the empowerment of individuals, based upon merit and personal performance.
